Description

PURPOSE

When the books weigh more than you, there is a better
way to carry them. GET A Weelie!! Weelie wants to
help as many learners as possible through their school
careers by making it fun and easy to carry their school
necessities.

VISION

Weelie’s vision is to be available in all schools and
retailers across the country. Creating and distributing
products that will add value to school children and
contribute to local communities.

PRODUCT DESIGN

The product design was based on functionality;
space required for books, stationary, lunch box
and water bottles. Provision is also made inside
the lid to store a phone and or wallet or any small
amenities. The Weelie includes lock loops that will
enable a child to lock the Weelie if necessary.
The main features of Weelie includes playful and
fun colours that will attract the attention of any
child. Ease of motion and movement was taken into
consideration as well as placing focus on durabilty
and longevity of the product.

PRODUCT FEATURES

Large wheels to accommodate impact for example pulling the
Weelie up a flight of stairs. The larger wheels will take the impact
and not the body of the Weelie.
Lid clips of the Weelie is designed to have a lock fit into the lid,
the design allows for a more secure lock and will not be able to
come off easily or break under pressure.
Pull mechanism of the Weelie has been designed in 3
interconnecting pieces. The mechanism has been improved in
that thinker margins of material is used. The design includes a
diamond shape design on the sides and middle which increases
durability even if weight is added to the Weelie.
Box dimensions of the Weelie is set at 47cm x 38 cm x 30 cm
which makes the Weelie slightly bigger and therefore ability to
carry more books.
Inside of the lid of the Weelie the designed is improved by
allowing flaps to open sideways. This improves functionality
and ease of opening.

The overall design of Weelie has sleeker
lines. The design allows for smooth edges,
comfortable handles and a more modern look.
Just by esthetics and functionality one can see
the improvements made to the Weelie.
